CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE THAT IT IS ALREADY WINTER?!?!?!?!
This year has gone by so fast, but a new season and a new month means new activity planning! We’ve already talked about the importance of STEM activities for our members, and with the cold weather that winter brings, fun indoor programming is even more important than ever. Today we are bringing you a roundup of some activity ideas from Pinterest that are low-cost and/or fairly easy prep.
This symmetrical snowflakes activity would work well either in a Learning Center or an Art Room.
This link gives ideas for 5 different activities, which could be done together or separately. I particularly love the Reindeer Relay!
This Marshmallow Shooter will take a little more to get the materials, but would be THE MOST FUN.
Engineering is a STEM category that is often overlooked, but this Gumdrop Christmas Tree Engineering Challenge is a great way to introduce it to members.
Not only does this paper tree building challenge teach Engineering, it also incorporates global holiday traditions! A marriage of STEM and Social Studies = the quickest way to my heart.
Aaaaaaaand this last one isn’t STEM at all, but it is holiday themed and gets youth celebrating kindness, so I couldn’t resist sharing it!
